A Spark

I remember as a teenager, sitting around the campfire at summer church camp, singing this song -

"It only takes a spark to get a fire going...

And soon all those around can warm up in its glowing.

That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it.

You want to sing, it's fresh like spring...

You want to pass it on...

Pass it on...Pass it on!"

What would happen if we passed on God's love to those around us in such a way that its sparks grew into uncontrollable flames that set men's hearts on fire for God? What would happen to those around who could feel the warmth of its glow?

  5. I hadn't heard that song in a long time... by Kurt Kaiser, I think? Good reminder to pass on the love of Christ... especially thinking of the tornado victims.

  8. I remember sitting around the campfire singing this song at summer camp also. It was very popular years ago. I wasn't a camper though. I was a counselor. My kids were campers. That's a really good song. I wonder if they ever sing it at camps any more. Thanks for bringing back the wonderful memories.
    Blessings,
    Charlotte
